Clubs

Haque Academy offers many opportunities for students to be involved in areas of their interest and be part of a smaller community of people who share their passion. Every year, students of Grades 7 to 11 have the opportunity to either join one of Haque Academy's senior clubs, or begin their own if one of their liking is not available. Clubs at Haque Academy include:

Each club is founded and run by a team of dedicated students. As students’ interest levels diversify, further additions to the ‘Clubs Program’ may take place. These clubs offer students the opportunity to take on leadership positions, work in a team of students who share their interests and increase their sense of responsibility and initiative.

MUN

The Haque Academy MUN club is the biggest and most successful student-led club at Haque Academy. This year the club boasted over 50 member and participated in four Model-UN sessions including LUMS Model United Nations and RotMUN. The club holds sessions every week to practice and polish their skills. The club grooms student confidence and motivates even the shyest members to speak publicly. Out of the four MUNs attended this year, Haque Academy teams won 2 Best Delegation awards out of over 50 participating schools, colleges and universities. Many of the students won individual accolades as well, including the Best Delegate Award, Outstanding Diplomacy Award and several Honorable Mentions. In all it was a very successful year for the MUN club.

Parliamentary Debate

Bluestreak

This year's "Bluestreak" magazine team worked relentlessly to put out monthly editions on their website. They covered topics like environmentalism, personal growth, fear and perspective through articles, short stories, poetry and personal experiences, along with creative illustrations and photographs. In November 2019, Bluestreak put together a successful book-drive event called "ReadUse & ReadCycle", where they sold used books and donated the rest to the Kiran Foundation. On top of that, the team hosted and attended weekly "Vent To Prevent" mental health awareness sessions with the school counsellor where they conducted de-stressing activities like coloring, and they sparked important conversations amongst students about personal struggles and the importance of breaking the stigma associated with mental health.

English Drama Club

All are welcome to be a part of Drama Club… The place where geeks, techies, performers and the occasional diva are all united as one! The club supports activities that help students participate in a number of experiences related to theater including musicals, variety shows, plays, and more. Students are encouraged to participate on both sides of production (acting and technical) in order to be part of the club.

This year the drama club put up a number of performances including a comedy sketch during spirit week titled “The Play that goes Wrong”, a musical montage paying tribute to musical theater during Literacy Week Celebrations, and a full length drama production of “Dear Evan Hansen”.

In 2017 Team Haque was the youngest participating team at the Szabist Zabtheatre'17, winning 5 out of 10 awards including Best Male Actor, Best Script, Best Director, Best Comedy and TEAM OF THE YEAR!!!

Haque Academy's presentation of "Going to School" won 3 out of 9 awards at Szabfest 2018 including Best Direction, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

Urdu Drama Club

Keeping our national language alive, the Urdu Drama Club is responsible for staging a full length stage play every year. The Annual Urdu drama is a much awaited event on the Haque Academy calendar. Over the years the Urdu drama club has put up several productions including:

•   Mukhtaarnama 2017
•   Sau Din Chor Ke 2018
The plays are attended by students, faculty, and parents and are always appreciated.
